Proper nutrition can improve your quality of life and significantly decrease your risk of many common diseases, but brilliant and kooky futurist Ray Kurzweil is trying to take things one step further: he eats for immortality.
Caroline Daniel of Financial Times recently broke bread with Google’s director of engineering (who has been described as an “highly sophisticated crackpot”) over a spread of healthy superfoods that are part of his immortality diet. Ray follows a mostly pescatarian plan and prefers “healthy carbs and healthy fats” to protein. Here’s what was on the menu when Caroline had her visit:

In addition to his superclean diet, Ray has a serious supplement program. Throughout each day, he swallows 100 pills that cost “a few thousand dollars a day” to support his longevity and immortality goals.
