There’s a new trade show in town!

ILS, one of the industry’s longest running trade events, returns March 12 – 14, 2018 as the New International Lingerie Show (NILS) at the Westgate Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Retail buyers, bloggers and press can expect to see familiar ILS lingerie, accessory and pleasure product brands and a new crop of exhibitors.

Glamory Hosiery

“We are looking forward to bringing Glamory Hosiery to the New International Lingerie Show,” said Tim Gettler of Glamory. “We hope to show all retailers and buyer the importance of hosiery to the success of their boutique.”

More than a New Name

The show’s sales manager, John Pace, noted that seminars designed to help retailers and networking events are slated for the inaugural edition of NILS.

“We’re organizing our seminars in such a way as not to take buyer’s off the show floor,” noted Pace.

A new website and updated social media accounts are in the works as are plans to heavily promote NILS on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and in trade press (online and off).

Additionally, a buyer’s lounge is being incorporated into the show’s footprint to give retailers a place to relax and organize instead of heading to their rooms.

“I want the retailer to know that they’re gonna be our number one priority.” said Pace. “We’re going to be offering show promotions for them to make their expenses a little easier.”

One of ILS greatest strengths was the variety of products and price points the show offered retailers. Pleasure products they may not have been exposed to at other shows, were effectively displayed at the trade event.

the New Crew

At the helm of NILS is Roland Timney and Chad Timney as Director and Show Director. Roland is best known as the co-founder of WomensWear In Nevada (WWIN).

Roland and Jeff Yunis launched WWIN in 1998 with 250 booths for women’s apparel brands. Chad served as that trade event’s Show Manager. In 2015, Urban Expositions, another trade show company, acquired WWIN.

A new marketing team is also in place with Tim McNamara and Sandy Dantzman. The International Lingerie Show’s founder, Jeff Yunis, returns as a consultant.

ILS started its run at the Tropicana Hotel in 1996 and ended in January 2017. The show averaged 200 exhibitors and 800 visiting buyers at each edition.

Pace acknowledged the potential difficultly getting brands on board with NILS, but he cited the new show’s organization and new team as its strongest assets saying, “We know how to run a trade show.”
